A practical act of care begins when we slow down enough to see someone else. The neighbour in Jesus’ story did more than feel compassion. He allowed compassion to change what he did.
Read, then notice
Read Luke 10:25–37 and notice the movement of the story. The Samaritan sees, comes near and offers practical care. His response asks for time and attention.
Our own next step may be modest. Ask what would help before offering a solution. Be honest about what you can provide, and respect the other person’s choices. Service carries dignity when we listen as carefully as we act.
